My Beautiful Country

I am 

From the Dominican Republic,

From an island full of color,

From dembow, bachata, merengue

The sounds of birds, cars and trucks.

I am 

From the three colors of the flag: blue, white and red.

From where blue represents that God protects the nation,

The white cross is the symbols of struggle,

And red represents blood.

I am

From “amor y paz”

From helping each other.

I am

From white rice, beans,

From stewed chicken, bananas,

And sugar cane.

I am 

From neighborhoods, motors,

And beautiful beaches.

I am proud.
